I believe Rideau Lakes needs a change in leadership, a new direction and a renewed focus on the future.

Our township needs leadership that listens, works with others and gets things done. Council should be approachable, accountable, respectful and focused on solutions.

Residents should know their voices matter and their concerns are being heard. Businesses should see a municipality that welcomes appropriate investment and opportunity. Our communities should have confidence that council is making responsible decisions with both today and tomorrow in mind.

Rideau Lakes has tremendous potential. We need to look beyond the next council meeting and plan for the next decade and beyond. That means supporting responsible growth, maintaining strong infrastructure, encouraging economic development, delivering effective municipal services and protecting the quality of life we want to pass on to the next generation.

I’m running to bring people together, restore confidence in municipal leadership, make council work effectively and build a practical, long-term vision for Rideau Lakes.

I have lived in Rideau Lakes Township for more than 50 of my 59 years. I grew up in Chantry and now live with my family just outside Newboro. Rideau Lakes has been part of my life for most of my life, and it is the place I am proud to call home.

My career has given me a broad perspective on our communities, tourism industry and heritage, as well as the importance of protecting and promoting the places that make Eastern Ontario special.

I spent 25 years with Parks Canada, working in roles that included lock operator, maintenance foreman, Resource Conservation Permitting Officer and Visitor Services Manager at Thousand Islands National Park.

I later became Marketing Coordinator and Promotions Officer for the Eastern Ontario Field Unit of Parks Canada. In that role, I was proud to serve as a Canadian delegate when the Rideau Canal was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2007.

After leaving Parks Canada, I spent five years as Brockville Tourism Manager. Today, I am Senior Marketing Manager with Regional Tourism Organization 9, promoting South Eastern Ontario from Prince Edward County to the Quebec border and north to the Rideau Canal World Heritage Site. That region includes Rideau Lakes Township.

Throughout my career, I have worked with communities, businesses, tourism operators, organizations and different orders of government across Eastern Ontario. I have seen what can be accomplished through effective leadership, collaboration and long-term planning.

My connection to Rideau Lakes, however, is much more than professional. Danielle and I have been partners in life for 20 years, and we have raised our family here. Our children, Emalee and Evan, have made the future of Rideau Lakes even more personal to me.

My experiences living, working and raising a family here have shaped how I see Rideau Lakes today and what I believe we can accomplish in the years ahead.

This is my home. I care deeply about its future, and I believe I have the experience and perspective to help lead Rideau Lakes into its next chapter.
